Hey Sassy Peeps!

This week in our coffee chat, Lindsay and I were chatting about goal setting and vision boards.

Let me start with, if you told me 5 years ago that I would be chatting about vision boards and suggesting people take the time to create them, I would have laughed at you!

I thought all of that Vision stuff was too “woo woo” and a little bit of BS to be honest. You see, I’m really great at internal accountability. I set a goal, I focus on it, and I usually achieve it. Which is great…when I know EXACTLY what my goal is.

When I had surgery, I knew (or thought I did) exactly what weight I wanted to be. I knew how to work my plan and focus to get there. I was amazing at it. I worked with laser precision and hit that goal in 10 months…but then I had a lot of “now what?” stuff happen.

I wasn’t sure what to do next. I tried to set new goals…and nothing really happened. They weren’t powerful enough. They weren’t BIG enough. They weren’t dreamy enough…they felt artificial and empty.

About 6 months ago, I hosted a vision board workshop with our local peeps…and it really helped me gain some clarity on my goals. It really helped me to put the things I still wanted to achieve to paper. I knew I wanted to work on my fitness, so I put that on there. I knew I wanted to tighten up my nutrition, so I put that on there. I knew I didn’t want to deal with the Canadian winter forever, so I put that on there. I knew I had to work on self-care, so I put that on there.

I hung my vision board in my office and I look at it every day. I look at it even more on tough days, when I’m feeling unmotivated or flailing. Over the last 6 months, my vision has actually become more clear. I’m set to create a new vision board next weekend and I’m excited to get even MORE specific with these goals. I’m excited to write these things down, because only then will I actually FOCUS on them. Are some of them scary? Of course!!!! But that just tells me that they are BIG and IMPORTANT enough to get my attention. I don’t want to play it safe in life. I want to LIVE BIG…and living big can be a little bit scary sometimes.

So when you think about your goals, it’s ok for them to feel a little scary…and it’s ok for them to change and adjust…and it’s ok to meet them and to not meet them. They are YOURS, and you can do with them what you will. But the biggest message is, SAY THEM, SHARE THEM and FOCUS ON THEM! You need to make them happen…and if you are too afraid to even admit them, how will you ever get there?

If you’re ready to really get focused on those goals, join us for our Vision Board workshop (details below) and spend an hour totally and completely focused on YOU and YOUR GOALS…dream big my friends!

Cheers,
Christina
